Meeting called to order 10:00 by President Jerry Davis

Returning/New Members  

New—

Dick McGregor, Augie's Brother-in-law; Tom's Mother-in-law, Happy Hapinstall, Joe M? From Anchorage AK, KL4QUU; Clyde Shrader, KJ7DXB, Bill Farina new EXTRA. K0DDA passed the extra.

Health and Welfare 

Romeo—might be coming to the park in a week or so. Bob Mitchell, WB0IJJ, staph infection in heart; Shirley getting help from occupational therapist—slow improvement—Bill is tiring from his constant caregiving. Ellen Davis had biopsy to check cause of female bleeding.

Minutes of previous business meeting (14 Jan) read and approved as read.

Treasurer's Report-- 

Current Bank Balance $2901.63, petty cash $196.31. Education Fund $1151.55. Moved and seconded to approve report as read. Vote, majority Aye, one nay, motion carried. Nay person wanted to know if we would be dinged for monthly bank fee when the club is not in session. Answered no, would not if keep over $1000 in account.

 

Old Business  

Bob B reported on classes and postage charges. Classes produced 4 Extras, 3 Generals, and 5 techs. Postage from sending in results of 42 VE sessions since August with 137 people processed mostly new licenses or upgrades.

 New Business  --

Snowbird Field Day-- Wednesday, February 27, 2019, 33 people signed up so far. Sign up on the two lists being passed around for station set up and pot luck.

Motion made and seconded to appropriate up to $150 for meat for pot luck. Unanimously approved.

Don Bogle's grill being brought by Tom Goforth. Tom and Don cook meat. Bring own plates and flatware if desired—some will be provided. Bring some drinks if desired (no alcohol). Log sheets by Tom Goforth, QSLing handled by Nick. W7ASL is call sign. Venture Out Dick will bring sign. Eat at noon.

New Board at ARRL—many comments about new board becoming more transparent and trying to correct mistakes made by last boards, including expanding life membership program to include longevity payments, accessibility for blind hams, lowering QSL mailing fees, and sanction removal from SW District leader who had complained about non transparency.

Old GPS units might not work after April 9th because of rollover.

Support to LaPaz kids will be delivered and helped with installation in July by Jerry and Tom G.

No programs needed for meetings this year

Bob and Laura are testing at their home—call them for appointment

Thursday mornings we meet in the Red Mountain Park and put up antennas etc.

Special interest group meets every Thursday afternoon at Red Mountain Library to discuss and work on Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Cad design, 3D printing, etc. All are welcome.

Electronics class this afternoon led by Howard at 1330.

Code Classes each Monday 0900 at back of meeting room until April.

Today is Golden Corral day

Romeo has club antenna analyzer—when next seen should ask him about returning item.
